How Psilocybin Mushrooms and Plant Medicine Can Heal Humanity and Transform Our World
By Juliet Tang
Contributing writer for Wake Up World
The more healing work I do, the more I realize nature is one of the greatest teachers and healers gifted to us.
On a hot summer day under a canopy of trees resting on a soft bed of fallen pine needles, magic mushroom gently opened the gates of various dimensions and guided me into its world.
Anyone who has ever worked with plant medicine understands no words can adequately capture the sheer magnificence of what unfolds, or describe it in any way that would do the experiences justice. When one is engulfed in the ancient wisdom of light knowledge bestowed by these generous teachers, one enters a Divine Observer state of being and all words are simply lost.
However, it is my mission to share these gifts with you, for I firmly believe it is past time for the world to return to the origin of our existence and embrace powerful natural healing modalities that can shed much light on the shadows we are currently facing. We live in a world where natural plants given by mother earth are demonized and labeled dangerous and illegal because they cannot be patented while deadly chemicals produced in labs are treated as mainstream and safe in order to fill the pockets of a few. It is past time for us to challenge these collective beliefs that imprison us, and plant medicine can show us the way.
Remember the Truth of Who You Are
In a world where 99% of the population identifies solely with the body and the mind, the truth of reality is, we are Source Energy, or Light of All There Is that is powerful, eternal and always evolving, and plant medicine is more than eager to show us this truth.
While everyone’s experience is different since Source Energy expresses itself in an infinite number of ways, once the filters that separate us between this “reality” and all other dimensions are dissolved, we experience ourselves as one with everyone and everything around us.
For me, I experienced myself as the leaves that were dancing in the wind, the ants that were carrying morsels of food back to their offspring, the roots that were drinking up the moisture from the earth and the earth that was nourishing and supporting all her children.
I also experienced myself as the Divine Intelligence that is within everything; or rather, I remembered how to set aside the illusion of “me” so I could be the channel for Source to work through.
Once the ego is removed, we no longer see the separation between anyone or anything and the only thing that is left is a profound sense of divine love and oneness.
We are Divine Love.
In a world of 7.5 billion, what would happen if all of us woke up tomorrow and remembered our true essence?
Understand the Harmony of Co-existence and Presence
Without the interference of the ego, I was fully present in the moment and assumed the role of the True Self – the silent observer. Time disappeared, the past and the future became insignificant and the powerful light of presence was in itself a transcendental state. Interestingly, without the mind, there was nothing but clarity and being.
In the forest, every insect, flower and tree was co-existing in complete harmony. Each manifestation of consciousness was utterly present and just existing; each was simply being what it was without drama, resistance or disconnect. Nothing in nature needs to be instructed on what to do, when to bloom and how to grow, everything is accomplished in the most effortless fashion.
Human beings can easily buy into the drama of an unawakened ego and live in a state of deep unconsciousness where regrets from past and worries about the future take away the power of presence. As a result, the discord in our energy fields becomes magnified and contributes to the collective unconsciousness.
What plants can teach us is the power of being as well as harmonious co-existence with each other and nature. When we bring consciousness into every moment, become the observer of what is rather than getting caught up in the mental stories, and choose to be at ease with our inner reality and who we are, we are also lifting the collective.
Your Perspective of Anything is What Gives It Meaning
I am a mosquito magnet, and one of my biggest worries was I would be bitten to death. Needless to say, I, or my mind always viewed every mosquito as my mortal enemy.
Funny enough, the first thing that entered my vision as I journeyed into another dimension was a mosquito. Time slowed down and I was able to not only trace the movement of the mosquito with effortless precision, but also see every detail on its body including the patterns on its legs. Rather than looking menacing, it glowed with the light of consciousness like everything else.
My ego may still be kicking and screaming with what I am about to share, but I had to embrace the notion that mosquitoes are but another manifestation of Source Energy (a notion I always knew begrudgingly but never allowed in my reality), and they are merely existing like the rest of the universe, it was my mind that labeled it obnoxious and evil.
Interestingly, the moment I released my hate story of mosquitoes which was in itself a negative attachment, I stopped getting bitten and in fact, for the duration of my journey, I did not get one bite.
Of course, the ego exists for the purpose of our survival including avoiding biting bugs rather than offering ourselves as meals to them. However, one of the most profound messages any plant medicine delivers is that nothing in life has meaning save for the meaning you give it, and whatever meaning you give is based on your ego stories of how you, or others experienced it. This can be about mosquitoes, life, abundance, certain ethnic groups or your definition of God.
Your stories define your reality, and not the other way around. In order to change how you experience an unfavorable reality, it is worthwhile to examine the stories you tell and be open to give the experience a new meaning – this is what conscious creation is all about.
What You Focus On Becomes Manifested
In the physical dimension, there is often a time lapse between intention and its materialization. This happens due to many factors, resistance from the ego which slows down the manifestation process being one of them.
In the quantum world, manifestations are instantaneous and this is shown through any plant medicine – whatever you focus on becomes your reality. It is not so much that a reality is born out of the vacuum from your thought, but my understanding is since there is no time but the now, and all realities already co-exist simultaneously, your focus activates that particular reality and it becomes “real,” or visible to you.
When I decided to stop paying attention to mosquitoes by focusing on the intricate beauty around me, they miraculously disappeared from my world. From time to time, I saw an energy bubble around me and the bugs would be flying outside of it.
I also had much fun playing with instant conscious creation by focusing on thoughts such as “In my world, there is nothing but light” and seeing the entire forest suddenly lighting up; “In my world, there is nothing but stillness” and all would fall to quietness and motionlessness.
We are all Creators. The journey of spiritual awakening is never about learning how to create because we are born with the knowing, but about letting go of our conditioned beliefs, fears and doubts that stand in the way.
The Universe Awakens Through You
Again and again, I was given the insight that Source Energy experienced itself through my consciousness. At times when I closed my eyes and rested, as soon as I opened them, I was consumed with sheer wonder and curiosity of a child whose eyes lit up from the magnificence around me.
Hungrily, I took in the sweet scent in the air, the vibrant changing colors of the forest, the inspiring “thought/feeling process” that went on, and the interesting texture of everything I touched. Every little particle contained an entire universe.
Each of us holds the universe within us and presents Source Energy with a unique perspective of itself that only we can offer. As Source learns about itself and expands through our senses, thoughts, emotions and actions, it is seeing and experiencing itself as the grand creation of All There Is.
Next time when you feel insignificant in any way, remember this truth – you are the eyes, ears and senses of God, and the universe is incomplete without you. The purpose of the journey isn’t about going anywhere or doing anything, it is solely about you Being You and living it.
Plants are Here to Heal
In my previously published article “After Ayahuasca – 5 Life Changing Transformations”, I documented some stories from friends whose addictions and end-of-life anxiety from cancer were healed by plant medicine.
With psilocybin, I have witnessed friends’ healing journeys from anxiety, depression and mild ADD. As a result of this miraculous plant medicine, they experience more mental clarity and inner peace, better organizational skills, raised consciousness, as well as deepened gratitude and love for their lives and the people in them.
Caught up in the ins and outs of our daily lives, not too many of us stop and think about the existing medical system and the immense cost, side effects and questionable results of heavy prescription drugs, and most importantly, those whose lives are crippled by debilitating physical and mental health until tragedies hit home.
Years ago, a family friend and single mom in her 40’s died alone in the middle of the night at the rehab not from cancer, but from the harsh and agonizing courses of chemotherapy which she struggled to pay for, leaving one young child behind. In addition, as someone who in the past suffered from years of depression, anxiety, and over a decade of PTSD, my mental health condition not only failed to respond to conventional medicine, but also worsened as I battled with ongoing frightening and unpredictable side effects from long term use of anti-depressants and sedatives. I would have wholeheartedly welcomed psychedelic-assisted therapies to ease the suffering I faced at the time, and I know the family friend would have given anything to experience some relief from her pain and fear.
Despite the emerging number of research documenting the powerful healing effects of plant medicine, the consumption (and sometimes the mere possession) of any psychedelic plant — whether it is ayahuasca, psilocybin mushroom, San Pedro, or peyote — in most countries is considered illegal, and is harshly penalized. The pharmaceutical industry and federal government have provided little to no support for the research of psychedelic-assisted therapies.
What if nature in fact does provide more effective and affordable holistic healing options? What if our loved ones do not have to suffer needlessly?
Expanded Consciousness Means the Ability to Question the Status Quo
“Part of what psychedelics do is they decondition you from cultural values. This is what makes it such a political hot potato. Since all culture is a kind of con game, the most dangerous candy you can hand out is one which causes people to start questioning the rules of the game.” – Terence McKenna
In the ultimate reality that transcends duality, there is no good or evil, everything just is and Source reveres at it all. It is a difficult concept for the human ego.
In this time-space dimension, to awaken to, and embody the True Self means to see through the tricks of the mind, and fully exercise our power of conscious choice.
Rather than focusing on what is wrong with the world and getting sucked into despair (remember, what you focus on becomes your reality), you can take your power back by simply asking yourself,
“Does the current global reality reflect my voice, my power and my choices?”
“Will I follow and defend the beliefs of the masses without ever questioning whose beliefs they are, or will I choose to follow my inner guidance and participate in the conscious evolution that places the wellbeing of all above everything else?”
“What would I Be, Do and Create knowing I am the ultimate Creator? What would I choose for myself, my family, my community and humanity at large?”
Plant medicine may not may not give you all the answers you are seeking. However, when taken with humility and responsibility, the right intentions as well as in a safe setting, what it does is it will open the doors of consciousness and wake up the deepest memory of who you are so you can experience reality from the perspective of an Empowered Creator, aka, your True Self. Once this memory is activated, you are free to arrive at any conclusion you wish and take the awareness into this game of life to write your own destiny, and transform the collective along the way.

6 Plants Other Than Cannabis That are High in Healing Cannabinoids
https://wakeup-world.com/2016/08/12/6-plants-other-than-cannabis-that-are-high-in-healing-cannabinoids/
By Anna Hunt
Cannabis is not the only plant that contains medically beneficial cannabinoids, although it has driven the research to understand the powerful therapeutic properties of these plant compounds. In actuality, there are several plants that are also rich in cannabinoids and benefit the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for helping the body maintain internal balance, or homeostasis, which is needed for attaining optimum health.
To expand our understanding of cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system, scientists and botanists are exploring the prevalence of cannabinoids in many plants used in natural remedies, other than just cannabis. Below are six plants found to either contain healing cannabinoids or affect the endocannabinoid system, and some of their known therapeutic benefits.
1. Coneflower – Echinacea
This plant is well-known for its ability to help the body fight off the common cold. It is also used to relieve anxiety, fatigue, migraines, and arthritis. Echinacea is a bit different than cannabis because it uses cannabimimetics instead of cannabinoids to engage the endocannabinoid system, particularly the CB2 receptor. Similar to THC in cannabis, the N-alkyl amides (NAAs) in echinacea are responsible for regulating the immune system, pain and inflammation.
2. Electric Daisy – Acmella oleracea
Native to the Amazon region, the electric daisy is used to create a painkilling gel. It successfully blocks pain receptors at nerve endings, as per trials conducted by Cambridge University. The compounds found the the electric daisy are called N-Isobutylamides, and similarly to other connabinoid-like compounds they regulate pain and inflammation. This natural remedy is emerging as a dental remedy for ailments such as impacted wisdom teeth.
3. Helichrysum umbraculigerum
Native to South Africa, this daisy has a strong mood-stabilizing and anti-depressant affect due to a large amounts of cannabigerol (CBG), also found in the cannabis plant.
Helichrysum has been studied by Italian natural product chemist Giovanni Appendino. He presented at the International Cannabinoid Research Society his discovery that cannabinoid-like compounds are made by plants, starting from an aromatic acid, which is different from the normal cannabinoid biosynthtic route. Helichrysum is used in African ritual ceremonies to make fumes with a potential psychotropic effect similar to other cannabinoids.
4. Liverwort – Radula marginata
This plant, indigenous to New Zealand, contains large amounts of perrottetinenic acid, which is strikingly similar to THC, the psychoactive component in cannabis. It is believed to bind with the CB1 receptors, just as THC, although liverwort is not known to have any psychoactive effects. What it is known for is its ability to treat bronchitis, and historically it has been used to alleviate gallbladder, liver, and bladder problems.
5. Cacao – Theobroma cacao
The cacao plant has many therapeutic properties and it is known to be a powerful, and delicious superfood. Cacao affects with the endocannabinoid system by deactivating the enzyme called FAAH, which typically breaks down the endocannabinoid known as anandamide. Since anandamide is identified to be the body’s natural version of THC, eating natural chocolate increases the amounts of anandamide in the brain because the FAAH enzyme is less active.
The result is similar to what many people experience when smoking cannabis – a general feeling of being relaxed and happy – although the result is nowhere near as potent as with THC. Researchers at the Neurosciences Institute of San Diego were able to back up the claims that chocolate does contain three compounds that act as healing cannabinoids
6. Black Pepper – Piper nigrum
A very common aroma molecule or terpene, called beta-caryophyllene (BCP), found in plant essential oils and abundantly present in black pepper, has been discovered to function as a cannabinoid. Similar to other plant-based cannabinoids, BCP binds with the CB2 receptors, giving it the therapeutic effect of reducing inflammation. Various research has suggested that BCP could be used for the treatment of arthritis and osteoporosis, and may potentially increase the effectiveness of certain anti-cancer drugs.
